It was a beautiful March Day and a few of us decided to go wheeling. We met at the intersection of Bush Highway and Highway 87 going to Sunflower. After meeting around 9:00, we headed up the highway toward the turn off. Just days before this trip, this highway was closed due to a land slide caused by natural springs and underground water (that is what they say) but it was opened up the day before; one lane in each direction.

When we got to the turn off, we noticed a sign saying no left turn, so we all made a quick right to access the situation. When we were asking if we could wait and go straight across, the traffic director was quite proud of her position and got very frustrated with Dustin (our speaker for this exchange). After a couple minutes, a DPS officer stepped in and threatened Dustin with a fine for blocking a stop sign (it was only us behind his) so we continued north, and had to turn around 12 miles later. Once we had turned around, we made the now right turn to Sunflower and headed for the air-down point.

Here was the line up:
Dustin in his black 2000 TJ
Brian in the 98 4Runner
Bill in the 2006 Jeep Unlimited
Caleb in his 87 XJ (editors note: This was Caleb's first time in the drivers seat and he did an EXCELLENT job!)
Barb (Bill’s Wife) with and Merle & Bonnie (Bill’s Parents) in the 2003 Ford F250.
Bonnie rode with Bill most of the trip and even got a chance to drive a couple times.
Here is what the weather looked like, rough day... yeah right!
