Brutal, Deacon, and Pathyman's Adventure

Deacon, Pathyman, and Brutal continue on down the trail in hopes of finding a reason to engage the 4 wheel drive. After talking to a guy in a large Ford truck, he informed us that there was a spot that he needed all the lift his truck had to get over. That sounded like a challenge being that he was lifted higher than Brutal or Deacon. We waved good-bye to the rest of the group as we entered a Narrow shelf road along a small canyon. After we emerged from the shelf road we found a nice hill climb to the right that had about a 2 foot Vertical step that we would have to climb.

Deacon was first to approach the step. Placing the driver side Front tire in a small wedge in the step and leaving about 500 miles of worn rubber from a heavy right foot, he was able to jump his Tacoma up the shelf and made it look kind of easy.

Next we had to get Pathyman and his Nissan Pathfinder up on top. After not being able to make it under his own power we were quick to get out the winch and pull him up after the third attempt. The first 2 times we found that the winch would rather pull Deacons Tacoma down the hill than the Pathfinder up...

Now was Brutal's turn and after watching Deacon he knew he was going to need a little bounce to get up, after getting the front tires up he also used some right foot and a little luck and came out on top.

As we finished the climb a full sized Ford that we spoke with earlier came up behind us and also using the same tires till they smoke method, was also able to get on top.

We followed our road about another quarter of a mile to find that it took us right back to the same road we started from. We returned to the staging area and started to load up and wait for the rest of the group whom were only about a half hour behind.
